Song Hye-kyo (also known as “Song Hye-gyo”) is a South Korean actress and model, and was the first Asian actress to sign a contract with French global agency Effigies (in 2011)…
She has a part in the new film The Grandmaster by acclaimed director Wong Kar-wai, which stars my all-time fave Asian actor, Tony “In the Mood for Love” Leung as martial arts master Yip Man, the man who trained Bruce Lee. The film also stars Zhang Ziyi, Chang Chen and Zhao Benshan.

Song Hye-kyo made the transition into more Western-orientated films with the 2008 (released 2010) film, Make Yourself at Home (also known as “Fetish”), a thriller where she starred as the young Korean wife of a Korean-American living in New Jersey. See more here.

SIDE NOTE: Some of you will know that I’ve got a soft spot for In the Mood for Love, particularly the fabulous soundtrack.
