Our “Tiffany blue” photo gallery is possibly our all-time most popular collection with our Luscious Lifers on Facebook.
Whilst technically this album is not truly focussed on the precise greeny-blue branding of the famous Tiffany jewellery store in New York, we think you’ll love the myriad minty greens, turquoises, teals and pale blues which we’ve included.
The popularity of “Tiffany blue” grew out of the customised robin’s egg blue chosen by jewellery store, Tiffany & Co in New York, for their branding. The first instance of the colour being used by them was in 1845 when it was the cover colour for their Tiffany Blue Book – an annual collection of exquisitely handcrafted jewels.
It has gone down in history as the best-known and loved brand-related and trademarked colour ever since. (So much so, that many have swooned at the sight of a Tiffany blue box coming into their possession!) Think Coca Cola red, and the red and yellow of McDonalds, Caterpillar yellow, and Cadbury purple as similar well-known colours.
You can read about this background to “Tiffany blue” as well as more about this famous retailer, and the man who chose the heritage colour, Charles Lewis Tiffany.
