RESORT STYLE: Inspired by the bright, happy colours of Capri, Italy – red, coral, orange, white, yellow and navy blue – here is some resort-style fashion to help you pack for a trip to the stunning island…
MY ISLAND LIFE
Many long-term Luscious Lifers will know how obsessed I am with Capri, the beautiful island off Naples and across from the Amalfi Coast in Italy.
When Mr Luscious and I had our LUSCIOUS TAKES A TRIP: ITALY adventure, I think it was Capri which was the ultimate highlight. And considering how many amazing experiences we had, this is really saying something.
When we were there, I loved that I was following in the footsteps of some of my icons, such as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor who have all walked the beautiful laneways, explored the grottos and sat poolside enjoying delicious meals. It was like stepping back into a glamorous time, whilst still being just as glamorous when we were there. I couldn’t have asked for a lovelier time.
In fact, I love Capri so much that I’ve set my first novel there. I’ve taken inspiration from the scenery, the weather, the food, the fashion and the scent – it really is magical. And I hope my book will convey this when I publish it.
For now, I get to enjoy our memories every time I write. And it’s especially relevant today as we’re experiencing some pretty awful winter weather where we live on the Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne.
So here is a look at the colours of Capri – predominantly blues, reds, pinks, corals and yellows. Bright and brilliant., colourful and cheerful, interesting and insightful. Take a look at the photo gallery, and then scroll down to see some ideas for recreating the look.

CAPRI RESORT STYLE
Fashion wise, Capri is all about easy living – loose, flowing dresses and kaftans, wedges, sandals and flip flops, cotton and linen pants, and nautical stripes and florals. You’ll need relaxed casual clothes for day, and languid but still smart clothes for evening.
