Seeking inspiration to create your own dressing room or boudoir? Dreaming of your own walk-in wardrobe? Wishing you could step into a celebrity’s closet? Then you might enjoy this photo gallery…
Here are some great dressing room ideas for your home. Remember, you don’t need to have a big budget to make a space to organise your clothes, shoes and accessories (I did mine for about $300 – see the post here).
See PART 2 of our boudoirs, wardrobes and ensuites here.
These images are largely for celebrity dressing rooms, but no matter how much (or little) space you have, you can still take elements from them to incorporate, such as:
- add a slice of mirror to the back of a door or spare bit of wall
- paper one section of wall 0r an art canvas with luscious wallpaper
- recover a secondhand chair with pretty remnant fabric
- add in some vintage hooks to hang your bags and accessories
- bring in some pretty boxes from a stationery shop to store your items in a neat stack
- put accessories and ornaments on a tray to make an attractive grouping
- replace light fixtures with something more fun, like a mock-chandelier or colourful shade
- add a lamp and vase of flowers to create dressing table component.
I’m a big fan of reflective surfaces, so one thing I like to do is add mirrors and mirrored surfaces, eg. a cheap square of mirror could sit on your dressing table, covered with pretty containers such as tins, glasses dishes and old china bowls collected from secondhand stores filled with accessories – the mirror will reflect the colours and light from above.
You could use anything from teacups (good for small things such as earrings) to old floral dishes your grandmother might have used. Here are some of our Facebook photo galleries which might be useful:
