Founder and Chief Luscious Lifer
Natasha Wood is our Chief Luscious Lifer. So most of what you see, including any errors and perhaps your own Luscious addiction, is her fault.
With the desire simply to share the lusciousness in her own life, as a sort of online diary of lovely moments, she launched the first Luscious website quietly on Christmas Day 2009 and has been rather surprised by all the attention ever since, feeling both pleasantly chuffed and a little overwhelmed that almost 120,000 people care about what she has to say each day.
Natasha lives on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, south of Melbourne in Australia, where everything is fabulous, with Mr Luscious, their black Labrador Mabel, and a lot of shoes. And a constant stream of jolly weekend visitors.
BTW, Mr & Mrs Luscious are even happier since they got married – see the wedding photos! And more recent – trimmed-down photos! – on Instagram.
Various professional roles over the years have included banking, retail, journalism, communications and marketing, and online consulting. A lot of past roles have been dull, but she always intent on making it lovely where she could, and made lots of lovely friends along the way.
She can’t believe that she now gets to be her own boss, spending most of her time working from home in her pyjamas and enjoying all the best, completely awesome things on a daily basis.
In between, she’s learning/updating her French, Italian and tennis skills with weekly lessons.
And eating cupcakes, sometimes. Because she can.
As well as the Luscious blog, she used to run a website development and social media consulting company called Eager Beaver Media, sharing her knowledge of online businesses and the growth of social media, particularly Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
Today she’s focussed on writing books and is currently trying to edit one which is taking forever and ever and ever. Which is why the blog has been on hold for so long now.
She sees her brain as a sponge for all things connected to luscious living through technology, style and design, and is grateful for being born when she was – we live in exciting times!
See Natasha’s professional bio on LinkedIn.
She once wrote on an online dating survey that she was high maintenance, despite friends saying that was a ridiculous thing to say on a dating profile. But it worked and she had fun picking through a rather large amount of lonely hearts email requests.
She figures that life should be luscious as much as possible and that means working hard, being kind, cheery and generous, frolicking with fabulous people, encouraging others to flourish, and generally putting the effort in.
Fortunately, Mr Luscious arrived on the scene – just as she was breaking up with a man who thought washing sheets should happen just once in a lifetime – and he thought that all sounded pretty fabulous too.
Ironically, whilst looking for Mr Right, she found him in, er, Mr Wright (hereafter known to Luscious Lifers as Mr Luscious).
They now spend their time creating a luscious home, having luscious people for weekend house parties, and tracking down luscious bargains. Oh, and laughing a lot.
And yes, the word “luscious” does get used constantly in the Luscious household 😉

Special thanks to John and Jim who introduced Natasha to “Boy Sam and Girl Sam”, and who between them, started calling Natasha “Luscious” in honour of her red lips. Who knew it would turn out like this?!
